Subject:Last day at NCST
Time:08:58 am
Today is my last day at NCST.

Actually, I don't feel like leaving NCST. I like the atmosphere here, the people, the food, everything NCST has offered. During my PGDST course, it was like a second home to me as most of my time was spent here. Working here was a good learning experience. The people here is one of the best I have ever met, especially Sandhya madam, Urja, Peeyush and many more. They would encourage you, boost your confidence, help you out. My father-in-law says 'you were lucky, you have always met good people'. Hopefully this trend continues.

I will MISS NCST.....

Cleared my OOPJ MGPT.
when Parikshak gave Ys for all the inputs, my heart started beating fast and the feeling was wonderful. I would like to experience that feeling again and again.

Our daily routine changes if mom's change. Today she had to leave early for work at 6.30 am. But I woke up late (courtesy: maria v/s sania match), got ready for office and as usual got my breakfast and coffee ready on my table (on time). Thanks to my brother, who had made tasty dosas and chutney. Thanks a lot...

Subject:Stay at Nandina
Time:11:37 am
Current Mood:[mood icon] content
Sunday was my last day of stay at Nandina. PGDST course is finished so my stay there.

It's a beautiful place, though I liked but never enjoyed staying there. Maybe because it was my first experience of staying alone without my family and did nothing enjoyable, except for my solitary morning walk.

But last month's experience was wonderful, I enjoyed every moment there and now I regret that I had to leave the place, my room, the kitchen (which had a very beautiful view through the window). The credit goes to my flat partner, manogat. We used to study, chat, clean, cook, went around the promenade, met people. It was FUN.

One activity which drew my interest was cooking. Though most of the cooking was done by her (she cooks really well), I used to sit and enjoy all the tasty food. Only twice I cooked (I didn't want to torture her much).

At the end of my six months stay at Nandina, I feel satisfied.

got to attend KC Rao's lecture. This sunday got a chance to attend his lecture. since the time i joined pgdst, heard a lot about his lectures. so it was like 'want to listen atleast once during pg'. it was very precise and not at all boring. And there were these joke sessions. enjoyed.

Whenever this question comes up "who are the best faculties at ncst?" most of the time the answer is anand sir, kc rao,... though most of the faculty at kharghar were very good, still desiring to attend anand sir's lecture atleast once.

Many Many Happy Returns of the Day to my dear brother

First to introduce my younger brother, Chandrashekhar. (though most of the DAKE division knows him as he was part of last year's trek group). He works with Crompton Greaves.
His interest: adventure sports, shooting, boxing, swimming, rock climbing, music.
Good Qualities: intelligent, communication skills, humour, helpful,...
Bad ones: i will skip them ;)

Today I would wish him all success and good health. He had been and will always be a lovely brother as well as a great friend to me. Though younger than me he his more mature, which makes me rely on his judgement rather than mine. Thanks a lot chandu.

Subject:My first Lecture
Time:05:16 pm
Yesterday was my first lecture you might call it informative session. A week back, Sayyedji had asked whether i would be interested in taking a session on Powerbuilder for the FPGDST students. "OK, lets try" (but this reaction was not immediate). Yesterday at 11.30 am, there was full attendance (Sayyedji had announced that the attendance is compulsory). Took about an hour to complete the session.
Question arises: Hw was the lecture? Not a ery good one.
Things didn't go as I had planned. I skipped few things. The worst part, there was no reactions from the students side.

Got feedback from few students, they being very modest 1."Good m'am" 2."50% understood". Now that's a bad percentage.

Lessons learnt:
1. Make the session interactive.
2. Don't speak continuously.
3. Give examples.
4. Go according to the outlines made for the session.

BTW even after "not a very good experience" I am planning to take this session for PGDST students too. (IF SAYYEDJI LETS ME TO)

Subject:PCCP Demo
Time:11:40 am
WoW! The code worked finally.

PCCP project was a great experience. It was my first project. Here i was with a group at NCST Juhu. we decided to divide the project into parts, and each one was to work on their part. Worked hard on the code. Never worked before on C, haven't even tried simple C programs. Understanding pointers was tough in the initial stage. All the parts were working fine as a separate entity. When integrated, problems popped. converting string to char [] as ncurses doesn't support string, then there was this segmentation fault. Things weren't working exactly, as it was meant to. Tensions were high. Patience was being tested. Some how all the problems got sorted out. Till the time our demo got over, we weren't confident of our code. The project worked fine!!! But then no night-outs.

Lessons learnt, it's high time i should start using debugger, no more cout, printf.

Suggest easier solution please for converting string to char[] in c++
Method used by me : 1. const char * =string.c_str();
2. convert const char * to char[] with the help of a while loop.
